The Chemainus River flows eastward on southern Vancouver Island, emptying
into the Strait of Georgia near the town of Chemainus on the east
coast of Vancouver Island.
Access to the
Chemainus River is good off the Copper Canyon Main logging road,
which runs along the Chemainus Rriver for much of its course.
The Chemainus
River hosts a winter steelhead run from April to June as well as
coho salmon runs. Rainbow trout are present as well as a few summer
steelhead.
